Abbey’s Wood Shop
I’m retired from active military service, and living in Southern California with my wife, Vangie. I have four amazing children, who have given me six equally amazing grandchildren. I was lucky enough to spend a large part of my adult life traveling the world with my job in the military. I am ten years out of the service now, I wanted to do something different with my life. I decided that woodworking would present me with the challenges, and the much needed creative outlet, that would sustain me into later life, mentally, physically, emotionally and economically.
I have been working with wood to create things in one way or another since I was young. A lifetime of skill development that pleases me when I am in the throes of building something for others.
I believe in the beauty of nature as a restorative resource. I find that same restorative ability when I am designing and building things. And when I surround myself with these furnishings, I find true comfort in that place.
I’d like to build something for you that does the same thing.

I have been designing and making things from wood for almost 40 years. My fully equipped shop has been built and processes put in place specifically to support timely and efficiently completing woodworkings projects, small or large.
I will design and build custom pieces suited specifically for you. A cookie cutter approach usually isn’t very effective, and requires comprises we don’t want to make. I will work diligently through the design process with you to create what you see. If you aren’t sure, I will offer my time to provide you with options that will help you make the best choices.
I always use the best materials, processes and finishes. The goal is to create a piece that will last for many years to come.
I will seek out the correct wood for your project, I will make it fit into your desired locations, I will make it into a part of your home or business. Most importantly, I will always work for you to create a space that inspires and builds a comfortable environment for you to operate within. Whether it be your living room, kitchen, bedroom, office or backyard.
In the end, it is your choice and it should reflect what you desire.
